FYSH (First Year Students at Hillel)

Hi, I’m Nathan Abelman, the President of First Year Students at Hillel. I am a freshman from Boston in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. I am undeclared but interested in political science and history. I am involved in intramural sports, Greek life, and spending all my time at Hillel, the greatest place on campus. I can’t wait to meet all of you! (NathanAbelman2013@u.northwestern.edu)

My name is Nora Cohen, and I am Vice President of FYSH. I was born in Venezuela and moved to Miami when I was eight. I love traveling, hanging out with friends, and meeting new people. I am involved with sorority life on campus and danced in Dance Marathon. These past two quarters at Northwestern have been wonderful and I am looking forward to my next three years here! Vice President of Outreach Naomi Nason came to NU from Dallas, TX and is a freshman in the Medill School of Journalism. When she's not working on FYSH board Naomi sings in ShireiNU (NU's Jewish A Cappella group), and is an active participant of NU's conservative minyan. Outside of Hillel, Naomi spends time with her sorority and shoots the occasional news story for the Northwestern News Report. Naomi loves everything about both NU Hillel and Northwestern itself and can't wait to meet you and answer all of your questions! (nnason@u.northwestern.edu)

Alex Finkelstein, the VP of Logistics, is a freshman in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. He is from Goshen, New York, which is an hour outside of NYC. He recently danced on the Hillel Dance Marathon Team and loves the opportunities to bond and meet people that Hillel provides. Outside of Hillel he is involved in the Northwestern Flipside, a satirical newspaper similar to The Onion and is the Intramural Sports Chair of the Public Affairs Residential College. His favorite sports are soccer and tennis. (alexfinkelstein2013@u.northwestern.edu)
